Tortured for Christ is based on the 1967 best-selling book by the same name. It is the true story of Pastor Wurmbrand who was arrested and tortured for 14 years because of his beliefs. The film was produced by The Voice of the Martyrs, a nonprofit organization dedicated to aiding families throughout the world who have been persecuted for their faith in Jesus Christ. The organization was founded in 1967 by Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, whose story is told in the Tortured for Christ film.
